Ahead of their match against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Sunday, the Mumbai Indians (MI) team made sure to celebrate the 36th birthday of their captain, Rohit Sharma, in a memorable way.

The team members and support staff organized a pre-birthday celebration for their skipper in Mumbai, making the occasion extra special.

The celebration was captured in pictures that are now going viral, showcasing the chic party outfits of the celebrities in attendance.

Among those present were MI opener’s wife Ritika Sajdeh, teammates Tim David and Riley Meredith, and MI owner Akash Ambani.

Rohit opted for a black shirt, while Ritika looked stunning in a green one-piece.

Rohit Sharma is among the most popular cricketers in the Indian team, second only to Virat Kohli in terms of fan following.

On the occasion of Rohit’s birthday, fans are going all out to celebrate in grand style.

In Hyderabad, one fan is making a 60-feet cutout of the MI skipper, the tallest ever for a cricketer.

Meanwhile, other fans are showing their love and respect by adorning garlands and performing small Puja ceremonies to mark Rohit’s special day.

Despite the ongoing fan rivalry between the two legendary cricketers, Kohli fans are also showering love and respect on Rohit Sharma on his special day.

It has been a decade since Rohit Sharma took over the captaincy of the Mumbai Indians (MI) from Ricky Ponting.

Although the start of their IPL 2013 campaign was shaky, Rohit turned things around and led the team to their maiden IPL trophy.
