Despite chasing a target of 198, the Delhi Capitals came close but fell just short by nine runs.
After the match, Mitchell Marsh, who had an exceptional all-round performance of 4/27 with the ball and 63 runs off 39 balls with the bat, expressed his disappointment, stating, “Losing that one was very disappointing. In T20 cricket, we always talk about small margins, and there were probably a few areas where we let ourselves down. Nevertheless, I’m still proud of the group, and there is a lot of belief within the team.”
Reflecting on his personal performance in the match, Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh said, “I try to keep my bowling simple, being clear about my role. I attempt to utilize the wicket to my advantage with my cutters and slow balls. In T20 cricket, especially in my role, you always need a bit of luck, but it’s a nice reward for a bit of hard work.”

Marsh also expressed his delight at his partnership with Phil Salt, saying, “It was a great partnership with Phil.
I batted with him for the first time and really enjoyed it. It was nice for us to set a platform as we’ve lost early wickets in this tournament so far.
Unfortunately, we couldn’t get over the line, but contributing with the bat was very pleasing, and hopefully, I can help with a few more wins.” The pair had a solid partnership of 112 runs.
Assessing the team’s performance in the tournament so far, Marsh acknowledged the difficulties faced by the Delhi Capitals, saying, “It’s been tough. I think everyone shares the disappointment of how things haven’t gone our way so far.
However, we have a lot of young players gaining valuable experience at this level, which will benefit Delhi in the future.”
Mitchell Marsh remains optimistic about Delhi Capitals’ chances in the tournament, stating, “We’re still alive in the tournament, but we will have to play some very good cricket over the next few weeks. We still have great belief in the group that we can do it.”
The Delhi Capitals will face the Gujarat Titans in their next match, which will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday.
