The hosts delivered some exceptional batting performances, with captain Dimuth Karunaratne scoring 115 runs, Nishan Madushka scoring 205, Kusal Mendis contributing 245, and Angelo Mathews finishing unbeaten with 100 runs.
These efforts helped Sri Lanka to reach a massive total of 704/3d in their first innings, in response to Ireland’s 492.
In the bowling department, Ramesh Mendis was the star performer with a figure of 5/64.
His impressive display helped Sri Lanka dismiss Ireland for 202 runs in the second innings, securing an easy victory by an innings on the fifth day of the Test match.

Prabath Jayasuriya also made his contribution to Sri Lanka’s success by taking a five-wicket haul in the first innings, continuing his brilliant form in Test cricket.
The win was an important milestone for Sri Lanka as it marked their 100th Test victory in their history.
