In IPL 2023, RCB Beat Punjab Kings by 24 Runs – Virat Kohli The Hero
In the recent showdown between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings, Virat Kohli showcased his exceptional leadership skills once again as he led the Bangalore franchise as their captain on Thursday.
Kohli had earlier resigned as the RCB skipper, but with Faf du Plessis only available to bat in the contest against PBKS, Kohli was given the responsibility once more.

The result was a victory for RCB, as they defeated Punjab Kings by 24 runs at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, and Kohli was undoubtedly back to his very best.
Against PBKS, Kohli shattered some records as he became the first batsman to score 6,500 runs as an IPL captain.
Additionally, he also became the third player to smash 600 fours in the Indian Premier League.
Virat Kohli’s impressive performance against PBKS has moved him up to the third spot in the list of most fours in the Indian Premier League.
Currently, he is behind David Warner, the captain of Delhi Capitals, who has 608 fours, and Shikhar Dhawan, who has smashed 730 fours in the IPL.
It’s worth noting that Dhawan was absent from the game due to an injury, and Sam Curran once again led the Punjab Kings in his absence.
Despite their victory, Kohli emphasized that this win doesn’t make RCB an invincible team, nor does their league position before the game indicate that they are a weak team.
He believes that the team’s mood cannot be defined by their position on the league table after just five or six games.
Kohli also stressed the importance of maintaining their processes and staying in the moment.

Furthermore, he acknowledged the drastic change in conditions during the first half of the game and praised Faf du Plessis for batting outstandingly well.
After the win, Kohli shared a light moment with Preity Zinta, the co-owner of PBKS.
Kohli revealed that he and his batting partner decided to extend their partnership for as long as possible during the game against PBKS, to secure an additional 20 runs.
However, after overs 7-8, they noticed that the ball was getting scuffed up whenever it was hit into the square.
They decided to change their strategy and bat deeper instead. If they had stayed in, Kohli believed they could have given a crack at 190-200, but they ultimately settled for 175, which he felt was a good score on that pitch.

Kohli expressed his confidence in the team’s ability to win by taking wickets and praised their fielding, which he described as brilliant.
At the halfway stage, their plan was to take the game to the opposition in the first six overs, and that strategy paid off as they broke the game open.
