This remarkable turnaround for the Super Kings is a result of their perseverance, having finished 9th out of 10 teams in the previous year’s tournament.
Despite grappling with injuries and team balance issues, they have fought their way to the final and aspire to replicate their success from 2021 when they secured the title despite finishing 7th in IPL 2020.
Conversely, the Titans have showcased consistent improvement throughout the season, with four of their players leading the charts for both runs scored and wickets taken.

Despite the overcast weather on Friday, May 26, Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma opted to field first.
Unfortunately for them, Shubman Gill’s century shattered their aspirations. Consequently, in the final match, the winning captain of the toss might not allow the rain to sway their decision, as forecasts predict heavy showers and thunderstorms in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

The city has a 61 percent chance of rain on Sunday evening, with the likelihood of its presence during the match. In the event of rain, provisions have been made to accommodate the match.
If necessary, the game can be delayed until 12:26 PM IST to facilitate a 5-over-per-side match.
Furthermore, a reserve day, Monday, May 29, has been allocated for the final.
Although every effort will be made to complete the match on Sunday, if rainfall disrupts all 40 overs from being bowled, the match will resume from the point of interruption on the reserve day.
The playing time on Monday will be extended by an additional 120 minutes. In the event that a 5-over match is also unattainable on Sunday due to rain, and no play is possible, the match will commence anew with a fresh toss on Monday.
In the scenario where only the toss occurs on the original match day without any gameplay, a new toss will be conducted on the reserve day.

However, if persistent rain persists in Ahmedabad, the established protocol for a shortened game will be implemented, with 1:20 AM IST on Tuesday, May 30 being the latest time for a super over decider.
If the rain persists and hampers play on the reserve day as well, the Gujarat Titans will be declared the winners, as they secured a higher position than the Chennai Super Kings on the league stage table.
