Sri Lanka – Wicketkeeper Returning After Six Years
Sri Lanka’s 15-person team for the first Test against Ireland, which will start on April 16 in Galle, has been revealed.
Niroshan Dickwella was cut from the team for the first Test against Ireland, so Sadeera Samarawickrama, who played his last of four Tests in 2017, could take over as wicketkeeper in Galle.

Oshada Fernando, who was also on the New Zealand tour, was kicked off the team, and Dushan Hemantha, who had never played for Sri Lanka before, was called up for the first time.
The other spin bowlers on the team are Prabath Jayasuriya, Ramesh Mendis, and Lasith Embuldeniya.
Kasun Rajitha and Lahiru Kumara are supposedly being rested for the Test match.
Asitha Fernando, Vishwa Fernando, and the uncapped Milan Rathnayake, who was also on the New Zealand tour, are the pace bowling choices.
Even though Samarawickrama is on the team, he will have to beat out Nishan Madushka, who made his start in New Zealand as the wicketkeeper.
Pathum Nissanka, who didn’t make the team for the trip to New Zealand, is still sitting on the bench.
After nine Tests, Nissanka’s average is close to 40, but he didn’t make the red-ball team because of a bad series against Australia at home.
Even though his recent white-ball record has been good, Nissanka is still not in the team.
