SRH and KKR Want to Avoid Being at the Bottom
Both Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have had a disappointing campaign so far, which is evident from their position at the bottom of the points table, along with the Delhi Capitals.
However, the current standings also suggest that all is not lost for these teams, at least not yet.

The race for the playoffs is so tight that even the Delhi Capitals, who started the tournament with five consecutive defeats, are still in contention for a spot in the playoffs.
KKR had a promising start to the season, but their form has dipped recently. On the other hand, SRH has been inconsistent throughout the tournament.
However, the team that manages to win their upcoming match on Thursday will have a good chance of staging a late comeback and joining the other teams in the race for a playoff spot.
The previous encounter between these two teams this season was a high-scoring game at Eden Gardens, in which Harry Brook impressed everyone with a scintillating century.
However, the task for Brook is set to be more challenging this time around.
SRH may not want to make any more changes at the top of their batting order, after pairing Mayank Agarwal and Abhishek Sharma, as they have already made too many alterations that have resulted in instability.
Brook may face a tough time against KKR’s spin trio if there is a batting collapse, as they are likely to bowl aggressively against him.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has other batters who can handle KKR’s spin trio. On paper, SRH is a more superior outfit.
However, KKR can take comfort from the fact that SRH has only won one game at home this season.
Although they lost their last match to Gujarat Titans, the runs scored by Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Andre Russell were positive signs.
Russell has been frustrated with his batting position lately, and there is a strong case for promoting him to at least No.5.
The winner of this match will keep their hopes alive, while the loser will be the first team this season to register their seventh loss. Beyond that point, comebacks are not guaranteed.

The match will take place on May 4 at 19:30 IST at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.
The players will face a humid evening. So far this season, we have witnessed both high-scoring and low-scoring games.
Sunrisers Hyderabad made numerous changes to their top order this season, but they finally seemed to get it right in their last match against the Delhi Capitals.
They are likely to retain the same group and replace Akeal Hosein with Marco Jansen.
For Kolkata Knight Riders, they will have to decide whether to include Jason Roy, who might replace David Wiese as the fourth overseas player after Rahmanullah Gurbaz’s impressive innings in the last game.
Aiden Markram’s record against leg spin in the IPL is quite good, so his presence in the middle overs will be crucial for SRH.
Varun Chakaravarthy and Suyash Sharma have been among the wickets for KKR this season.
Still, Andre Russell might bowl early in the game this time, given his superior record against Rahul Tripathi and Mayank Agarwal.

He has bowled a total of 43 deliveries to these two batsmen and has dismissed them six times.
It is interesting to note that KKR has bowled more than 100 overs of spin, which accounts for 60% of their total overs and picked up 33 wickets, the most by any team.
