Injuries Further Compromise India’s WTC Final Squad
Jaydev Unadkat has been ruled out of IPL 2023, while KL Rahul has already pulled out of both the Indian Premier League and the World Test Championship final.
However, Unadkat is still in contention for the WTC match at the Oval in London, which is scheduled to take place from June 7-12.

Sources confirm that Unadkat has left the Lucknow Super Giants’ camp and is presently undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru due to a shoulder injury that he sustained during a net session.
Although he is racing against time, his recovery for the WTC summit clash has not been ruled out yet.
It is worth noting that Unadkat, who is the only left-arm pacer in the Indian squad for the final, is 31 years old.

Despite this, a highly reliable source has informed Cricbuzz that he should be fit and ready for the WTC final.
The next paragraph reads, “Unadkat played two Tests, 7 ODIs and 10 T20Is and his last international was a Test against Bangladesh in December 2022.
His consistency at the domestic level earned him a recall into the Indian team, for which he earned his first cap way back in 2010.
In the meantime, concerns have arisen over the fitness of two other players, Shardul Thakur and Umesh Yadav, who are both part of the WTC final squad.
Shardul missed a few IPL games for Kolkata Knight Riders due to a niggle, but he has since been deemed fit after playing for the team in Hyderabad on Thursday night.

Umesh, on the other hand, suffered a hamstring strain and missed a couple of games. However, he is reportedly on the mend.
The national team management and selectors are eagerly awaiting updates on all the players, including Unadkat.
