Warwickshire were struggling at 164-4 against Hampshire, but half-centuries from Sam Hain (85), Ed Barnard (91*), and Michael Burgess (60*) helped them take a 135-run lead.
They will aim to extend this advantage on the following day.

In the cricket match at the Country Ground in Chelmsford, Jamie Porter of Essex took four wickets for 51 runs.
This happened when the lower order of Surrey was looking to cover up their first-innings deficit and reach a score of 314.
However, Porter’s excellent bowling ensured that Surrey was bowled out for 240, giving Essex a first-innings lead of 74 runs.
In a team effort, Lancashire’s Will Williams, Tom Bailey, and George Balderson took three wickets each, limiting Nottinghamshire’s first innings lead to 35.
This allowed Lancashire’s batsmen to easily overcome the deficit and regain the lead by the end of Day 2.
On the other hand, after being all out for 245, Glamorgan was given the upper hand against Yorkshire thanks to Michael Neser’s impressive spell of 7-32, which included a hat-trick.
Neser’s bowling helped dismiss Yorkshire for just 106, giving Glamorgan a lead of 139. At the end of Day 2, Glamorgan’s lead had extended to 196.
