Robinson’s effort was supported by four wickets from six overs from other bowlers, and Sussex finished the day at 63/1 in response.
Meanwhile, Michael Neser, who was not included in Australia’s Ashes squad, took 3-15 in a five-over spell for Glamorgan against Yorkshire.
