Brian Lara, the head coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad, has expressed his frustration with the team’s poor performance in the IPL 2023 so far.
The team is currently second from the bottom of the points table, having won only one match in their last five attempts.

Lara attributed their poor form to the team’s lack of impact with the bat, stating that early wickets and the absence of partnerships have hurt the team.
In their most recent match against Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunrisers fell short with the bat, finishing with 166 in a chase of 172, with Varun Chakaravarthy defending eight in the final over.
Lara believes that the team needs to focus on match awareness and the importance of partnerships, stating that while being aggressive is important, the players also need to use their intellect to get the job done.

Lara, however, refused to blame any specific weakness against spin or the likes of Narine and Chakaravarthy, and instead called for the team to hold their hands up and admit that they lost the game.
Finally, Lara offered support to struggling batsman Harry Brook, and stated that he and the coaching staff are always there to listen and help out any player who needs it.
